Windows Start Menu – Location On The Hard Drive

Exploring the content of your start menu is quite easy to achieve and can be done if the user knows how to locate the All Users start menu folder. This folder contains shortcuts and such that are visible on your profile. The other is the standard start menu folder. To access the content in the start menu folder is pretty simple once people get to know how to access the folders. The steps below explain the procedure necessary to get familiar with in order to gain access.

Accessing Windows Start Menu Folder:

  • Go over to your start menu and click on it.
  • Go over to the built in search feature on the start menu display tray and enter the line  “%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu”.
  • Easier way to do that would be to copy the given line and paste in the search field to prevent the trouble of typing it done. Once it is pasted, press enter.
  • Windows would bring you to windows explorer screen with the folder searched for, open in front of you. Double click on the Programs folder and look around on the content that is present there.
  • If you wish to know the location of this folder, just click on the link given in the address bar. Click on it and it should become highlighted; now you can cut, copy and modify it as you wish.
